More than a million men in China are infertile and an official said that symptoms of male menopause which appear in men above 60 can now be found in men around 40.

Research shows that millions of men have prostatic disorders. More than a million men have been found to be infertile, and 50 percent of men over the age of 40 suffer from erectile dysfunction, reported China Daily citing the Beijing Times.

The increase in male infertility is due to more pressure in day-to-day life and environmental deterioration, said Ye Linyang, director at Beijing-based hospital.

“Symptoms of male menopause which should appear in men above 60 can now be found in men around 40,” Ye was quoted as saying.

China has a population of 1.3 billion.
