Man conquers `hardest videogame of all time` in less than 2 hoursPublished On: Wed, Oct 19th, 2011 | Technology | By BioNews
It just took one hour and 26 minutes for a gamer to triumph over the ‘hardest videogame of all time’- Dark Souls.
This month’s fantasy PS3 and Xbox 360 hit Dark Souls came out in Japan in September.
Furthermore, the back of the box of the game also says ‘Prepare to Die’.
The swords-and-sorcery world of Dark Souls is packed with monsters who can kill you in one blow. Even worse, when you ‘rest’ at a bonfire, they all come back to life.
Dark Souls is viciously difficult right from the beginning.
The player has no ‘lives’, there are no checkpoints, and almost every opponent is deadly.
Gamers frequently post videos of ‘speed runs” through games but despite that, game industry insiders are totally flabbergasted that someone has beaten Dark Souls in such a short time.
“Speed runs are not a new idea – people have been posting them online for years. But for someone to complete a game this hard, this quickly verges on unbelievable,” the Daily Mail quoted Alex Simmons, UK Editor-in-Chief of games site IGN as saying.
The gamer called SexyShoiko has also posted the video of his insane victory on YouTube, in case there are any doubts raised and the video guide, posted by him, is already being pored over for tips as to how he did it.
But the sharp-eyed gamers have claimed that the video appears to show Shoiko with magical items that he should not have possessed by that point in the game and have said that the video must be fake, or he must be using a hitherto undiscovered cheat mode.
