Now, take 15-min online test to relieve your fear of Alzheimer’s

Oxford University scientists have developed a fifteen-minute online test to find early signs of Alzheimer’s disease in people as young as 50 years.

The computer-based interactive quiz can be taken in the privacy of ones home and provides instant results, enabling early treatment to keep it in check.

Experts say that delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s by five years could reduce the number of people dying by half, which currently is one-third of people over 65 years.

The newly developed ‘Cognitive Function Test’ is free of cost and aims at helping people facing a fear of losing their memory but are too embarrassed to visit a doctor.

“Alzheimer’s is a preventable disease, not an inevitable part of the ageing process. The trick is to identify any decline in memory function as early as possible and take the necessary prevention steps,” said David Smith, Dementia and vitamin B researcher professor.

The test follows an Oxford University study which credits a simple vitamin pill with cutting brain shrinkage linked to Alzheimer’s by up to 500 pc.
