If you think you know how much time it takes for you to recover from alcohol’s influence, you are most probably wrong.
A new study has revealed that half of New Year revellers who take to the road this weekend will still be under the influence because they misjudge how long it takes alcohol to wear off.
The study found that 53 per cent of the 1,800 drivers miscalculated the recovery time needed after four drinks at night.
Most thought between 8am and 10am the next day when they would not be safe until 11am.
“You have a false sense of security when you have had a night’s sleep. It is like having a fresh start,” said Hunter Abbott, managing director of AlcoSense, supplier of a DIY breathalyser, who commissioned the survey. (ANI)
