‘God didn’t play a hand in The Big Bang’, says Stephen Hawking
The Big Bang was the result of the inevitable laws of physics and did not need God to spark the creation of Universe, claimed Stephen Hawking.
Hawking has claimed that that no divine force was needed to explain why the Universe was formed.
“It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the Universe going,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
“Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist,” said Hawking in an extract from his latest book, ‘The Grand Design’.
Though, in his earlier book, ‘A Brief History of Time’, Hawking did not rule out the possibility of God in the creation of universe.
But, his new book rejects Sir Isaac Newton”s theory that the Universe did not spontaneously begin to form but was set in motion by God, contradictory to his earlier work.

Ok so break down how the law of gravity implies that the universe can spring from nothing. That way im not just running on blind faith.
If this guy was so smart he’d apply his genius to earth in the present. This guy is a damn fraud.
Ofcourse, the creationists are already spamming their dissatisfaction,
but to quote acclaimed and widely respected prof. Hawking,
“There is a fundamental difference between religion, which is based on authority, [and] science, which is based on observation and reason. Science will win because it works.”
For all the clods out there saying things such as “Ok so break down how the law of gravity implies that the universe can spring from nothing. That way im not just running on blind faith,” – go do some research yourself.
Seriously. Read 1 book on cosmology and you can get a pretty good idea on how pivotal the force of gravity is in explaining the organization of the physical universe.
This isn’t sunday school, the “answers” aren’t going to be shoveled down your throat on this, you might actually have to connect a few dots and do some investigation on your own.
Oh, and Hawking *is* applying his genius for the betterment of our species in the present. He’s just doing so at a level that the average person can’t even comprehend.
We need millions more like him…
